The owner’s of 94 Wood St., Flinders wanted to extend the front of their house to get some extra space to gain more room and boost the worth of their property. With limited budget, the architect opted to propose a cantilever extension to maximise value for the clients.

The structural design for this project was very challenging given that it required a lot of on site work as well as a detailed study of existing structural drawings as well as services layout. Another big challenge was limited available space for footing extension as the services pipes under limited the available space for building footings.

CESCON took up this challenge and provided a combination of steel and timber design with new footings connecting to existing ones and maximizing the front cantilever.

CESCON also guided the builder throughout the construction phase working with the builder and responding to their RFIs in the quickest possible manner.
